LIGO in India? You must be kidding …

I was pleasantly surprised that this experiment is slated to come up in India, yes, with a whopping 250 million dollars investment into science in India is perhaps the only 2nd instance of massive science euphoria.

And they are both directly or immediately so, in my field of research, although the first one INO isn’t seeming to be coming of age, while collaborations and Physics and engineering as such have been extensively laid out in the ground, the lab the much coveted international particle physics lab that is, hasn’t come.

(Surprise me, if work has already begun in Madurai, we have been struck by paranoia of environment so much that the elephants have the right of way more than the most innocuous science commies out there, pardon me, that’s a pun, no disrespect to elephants, no offense to commies.)

My PhD Thesis, Preliminary Exam !

But my own PhD thesis is a kind of different tale altogether. For my work there is no CP Violation.

In CP Violation two leptons (electrons and positrons are leptons) are imparted quite good amount of energy and made to collide against each other. Thus just like in CERN lab, there is a much smaller tunnel at the Tsukuba facility, called an accelerator-detector facility. In this facility an electron and positron pairs are given enough energy and made to circle in opposite direction.

When they collide, they are made to do so, right inside the detector. They produce pairs of B-mesons. The B-meson one and two, they are almost at rest when they are produced, in the lab frame of reference. But the matter of fact is the B-mesons are produced from what are called Upsilon (4S) mesons.

These Upsilons are called resonances, and they are highly unstable (all resonances are short lived elementary particles). So they turn into B-mesons as soon as they are created.

What are Gauge Potential, Whats a “Theory” in Physics?

Potential was, as said above, is, energy per unit mass or charge. So, we see that, in defining the higher quantity energy or potential (higher therefore closer to action, hence more fundamental or unified) we have to INTEGRATE the lower variable, here, Force, Field or (Any ) 3-vector. This entails therefore arbitrariness into the Physical solution when we solve for these quantities. These physical problems, as they involve differentials or integration, leads to a differential equation. Under further suitable physical conditions called eg laws of nature or physics, become whats called a wave-equation or for particles, equation of motion. We can say equation of motion for particles or equation of motion for waves if they are separate.

Now that we understand what are potential, field, vector and gradient and integral in relation to each other, comes requirements called as symmetry or laws of nature or laws of physics or in simple, boundary conditions to these differential equations known as, wave equation or equation of motion of particles OR waves. ( — which are separate so far )

These equations constrained by the conditions or restrictions which are attributes of physical observation, must therefore unite these variables (potential, field) into one entity which would satisfy the wave or particle equations of motion, the differential equations of motion in PARTICULAR ways only, known as Laws of Nature or Physics. So they become, from their 3-vector or scalar attributes, 4-vectors (or still higher, Tensors).

Phase Space.

When we deal with what we call particle physics, we always have to bring into discussion; whats a phase space. Its the most basic thing to do, in that involvement. Its like each time we make pizza we have to think of whats the dough and whats the topping. At-least the theoretical and experimental particle physicists would think so.

Whats phase space? How is it that the special relativity was hidden into a small angle?

Lets first talk phase space.

Phase space literally means a space of angles. A phase is an angle. But what is the angle? The angle that gives us the direction of momentum. And the magnitude of the momentum is directly connected to the energy.

The nature of our Universe

But like we can make sense “a football rolled off and seems much smaller now, therefore moon must be really really huge, we know that its situated far off, we can also make sense that since we can continue to collapse and collapse and collapse yet not reach a point and when we reached a point we have reached nothingness and it is at that scale that Universe created itself. It is in this sense we can discuss about the nature of Universe, not in a sense how conservation of energy and matter must mean Universe can not create itself out of nothing. No body has seen the Big Bang. And something is not an authority of nothing …
