Gravity warps space-time.

Since flat space-time can be thought of in Newtonian mechanics as an absence of force or potential of gravity, the presence of such forces is ipso-facto a curvature of space and time, therefore space-time. Thats just another two lines to prove what I claimed, ideally and intuitively.

Its interesting to note, thats so because force is a vector and associated with direction and energy being an integral of force, energy has to go on decreasing if energy continues to produce a force. This is again similar to a situation where like a bank account, the more time you spend in a pub the more you have to spend. “

3 aspects of Relativity of Einstein that are probably Newtonian.

You may read the linked article — Time Dilation, before or after reading the current one. 

It’s a beauty of physics that not only the most successful laws of physics viz quantum mechanics and theory of relativity are super-set of the canonical laws of physics which is classical mechanics and over-binding on the latter but they are also a good extension of the latter. They are a modified version of the latter, hence they must all fall back onto the classical laws in their requisite limits.

In some situations this fact is amply reflected in the equations or ideas itself. I have hit upon two of these, while thinking of the same, another one is perhaps well known. The one that is known well enough is the so-called principle of relativity which is a set of transformations relations, between quantities in one frame-of-reference to another.

But this is merely a different form of transformation laws, the principle of relativity being one known even in Newtonian mechanics. In the latter, the principle of relativity of ordinary classical mechanics, it lacks the characteristics of certain kind, which are only envisaged by Einstein.

I am going to show why the two other such similarities of relativistic nature of our world known to be special relativistic properties are actually Newtonian properties. The only difference that crops up is perhaps in the newer ideas of Einstein, perhaps because I haven’t reviewed the constancy of speed of light.

Property 1. 
The first one is time dilation. Time dilation is strictly speaking not an Einsteinian property. It’s a Newtonian property. And this I described in much detail in my last article “Time dilation”. Here one does not even need any equations explicitly, to see the idea.

Why is time dilation a Newtonian property? Because as I explained in that article “time dilation is a result of energy disappearance or unavailability”. Period. And there is no special Einsteinian thinking here. If there is no energy there is no “running of time”. If there is less of energy there is slower running of time and if there is more energy there is faster running of time.

The new glitch in OPERA.

( UPDATE, 19.11.2013 — Establishment here refers to the standing of Theory of Relativity in making speed-of-light as 2.99 x 1,00,000 kms/second, therefore they have attacked speed-of-light hypothesis and a cable glitch doesn’t take away their claim, as their claim was made on the basis of Physics in their paper, the glitch only deletes one data point, that the late arrival was a dubious data-point, but no-one knew of such a glitch at the time of their claim, more-so those who claimed the “imminent” failure of Einstein’s Theory.)

I mean 3 hours of basic Physics could have suggested pretty easily that 3 years worth of data taking is merely consistent with establishment, the order of the Goliath. They (simply) did not interpret their results correctly and that is the crux of the matter.

I have a punctured tyre, but what makes me think that I can drive 733 kms with it. I didn’t know I had a punctured tyre. But then its still punctured and it can not take you afar. Unless you ( — metaphoric you, read also as we) assume that puncture tyre are as good as good ones and they can take you thousands of kms.

Mach’s Principle

This is called Mach’s principle because Ernst Mach had questioned the validity of associating the rotation to immediate surrounding. Now to visually understand the Mach’s principle Weinberg stood up, in that video, and made a movement which explained how your hands rotate faster or slower. I didn’t understand this well enough so one night I went up to the roof on my house and looked at one star. I focussed my sight on that star very well and then started oscillating a little thing while looking at the star. The star started taking a zig-zag path, arc-circles and what not depending on how you oscillate that small thing. Disclaimer: This may not be exactly why there are less women in Physics today.
