Simple explanation of OPERA Anomaly of FLT

I just wrote two tweets, one of which, is a concise explanation of OPERA anomaly of Faster than Light neutrinos. (FLT neutrino). Einstein’s Relativity Theory would be invalidated if neutrinos move faster than the photons, which is what OPERA experiment suspected it obtained, but Quantum Mechanics Uncertainty relations would save the grace of Relativity of Einstein, from falling off as an invalid theory. Its a bit tricky, but I explained it in 140 characters.

2. Q. Mech uncertainty; E=f(t), p=f(x) >> E-t, p-x fuzzy, mixing of variables E-t, p-x, if E-x mix, eg E=f(x), E-v fuzzy, as v=f(x) > OPERA FLT

Literal Explanation; E-x mixing (nobody suspected as E and x commute, that is Ex = xE in operator algebra. But thats the problem of how we do Physics. The idea is E and x are correlated in the detector, even if may not be in nature. So E = f (x). That means E and x are mixed, as E depends on various values of x, if E is sharp no more x. Hence there must be a uncertainty or fuzzy factor. This fuzziness then goes on to v = speed of light and neutrino. Since typical uncertainty on Energy in particle detectors are like MeV order, that makes speed = v far far fuzzy or uncertain, a calculation I had done, at the time of OPERA anomaly and arxiv rejected my paper, twice. Its because of this reason, the speed of neutrino was not as sharp as 7.5 km/s above speed of light, hence their FLT claim was mere oversight even, Heisenberg might have figured in 1925)

To Physicists … A question in mind !

To Physicists: do you think “it would be a new invention that uncertainty relations do not (necessarily) follow from non-commutation, the non-commutation leading to uncertainty relations was just one possible way of proving that simple relations between such non-commuting variables [e.g. momentum and position] exist.

One of the reasons for this could be; such uncertainty relations might generally also exist between commuting variables [such as distance and energy ], maybe nobody has checked if distance and energy also do not commute ? in consistency with the non-commutation of energy-time ?

eg an energy variable has in it already all of the following: distance, time, their ratio = velocity and momentum [and mass]. Which means automatically, there is a contribution of each of those variables into energy, hence an uncertainty of energy automatically extends to same in distance and momentum and so on.

The new glitch in OPERA.

( UPDATE, 19.11.2013 — Establishment here refers to the standing of Theory of Relativity in making speed-of-light as 2.99 x 1,00,000 kms/second, therefore they have attacked speed-of-light hypothesis and a cable glitch doesn’t take away their claim, as their claim was made on the basis of Physics in their paper, the glitch only deletes one data point, that the late arrival was a dubious data-point, but no-one knew of such a glitch at the time of their claim, more-so those who claimed the “imminent” failure of Einstein’s Theory.)

I mean 3 hours of basic Physics could have suggested pretty easily that 3 years worth of data taking is merely consistent with establishment, the order of the Goliath. They (simply) did not interpret their results correctly and that is the crux of the matter.

I have a punctured tyre, but what makes me think that I can drive 733 kms with it. I didn’t know I had a punctured tyre. But then its still punctured and it can not take you afar. Unless you ( — metaphoric you, read also as we) assume that puncture tyre are as good as good ones and they can take you thousands of kms.

Feigenbaum constant and Compton Wavelength factor !

In our OPERA anomaly analysis, by summing Lorentz factors we obtain a speed-time uncertainty relationship in terms of the Compton wavelength where we have a constant 0.211. The inverse of this constant is pretty close to the so called Feigenbaum constant which is 4.669. Inverse of 0.211 is 4.73 ( — 1.3% away )  But 0.214 is very accurately the inverse of 4.669, Feigenbaum constant which is a fundamental physical constant ( — and a transcendental number). In-fact since having more terms in binomial expansion will increase the 0.211 perhaps to 0.214, I suspect there is a definite relation between summing beta = 1 Lorentz factors and Feigenbaum constant.

OPERA anomaly analysis
