660 farmers killed themselves in Maharashtra, in 2015 — as per today’s print edition of TOI. While its worrying to the core, whats more worrying is the diversion of Relief Fund by CM towards cultural activities. CM Fadnavis says 25% — of relief fund, is allocated towards culture promotion. Why should relief fund be diverted towards culture especially when large scale deprivations are forcing farmer suicides.
One RTI by Galgali (who also exposed PM Modi’s 8.3 crore per message to nation program) reveals a group was sent to Thailand for a dance program and they availed Rs 8 lakh through direct involvement of CM who simply diverted the amount from relief fund towards such a culture promotion, while the week before 32 farmers killed themselves. Perhaps the CM is just too uninformed, like the CM here in our state Odisha.
But its not only Fadnavis who is to be accused of such.
